Honors Programs

Honors programs are available in both undergraduate majors in the School of Environmental and Forest Sciences, Environmental Science and Resource Management (ESRM) and Bioresource Science and Engineering (BSE). There are two routes through the program — UW "College Honors" or "With Distinction.”

UW College Honors
Students entering the UW may be admitted in a competitive process into the UW Honors Program, a four-year program in which students complete both general education and major requirements specified in the honors curiculum. These students become candidates for the degree “With College Honors.” If these students declare a major in the School of Environmental and Forest sciences, they may achieve graduation with UW Honors by completing the requirements for either the ESRM or BSE honors programs.

With Distinction
Students in the School of Environmental and Forest Sciences not choosing the University Honors Program may choose to complete School-level honors and receive a degree "With Distinction" in the ESRM or BSE major by completing 10 credits of honors work. Students must have a cumulative minimum of 3.3 and a minimum SEFS GPA of 3.5 to be eligible.
